And ‘The Voice’ Season 27 top five finalists are…
"America always gets it right," Michael Bublé ludicrously, if optimistically, declared Tuesday. But this show's producers often get it wrong.
On Tuesday, The Voice Season 27’s top 12 were quickly whittled down to a top five, the biggest and most brutal cut in Voice history. This meant that these semifinalists, after months of preparation (please note that this entire season was filmed in summer 2024) and weeks of pre-taped episodes, had been granted only one shot to sing live for America’s overnight votes and secure a spot in the finals.
Before I get to Tuesday’s results, please indulge me as I bitch about this format, as I often do, because when it comes to my Voice hate-watching, I have a lot to complain about lately. The Voice has been getting it so, so wrong — unlike American Idol, which, even with its own budget cuts and less-than-ideal recently truncated format, still mostly gets right.
