Goo gets mucked: Latest ‘Masked Singer’ reject is football rookie
The judges had assumed this jolly green vocal giant was a pro soulman, and they gasped in shock when the rookie confessed, “Spoiler alert: I don’t do this for a living.”
Wednesday’s Masked Singer theme was the somewhat ominous-sounding and Seth Brundle-reminiscent “Merging of the Masks,” as the four finalists from Groups A, B, and C competed against each other for the first time this season. Host Nick Cannon claimed this was the tightest quarterfinals race in the series’ 12-season history, and he may not have been wrong. It was so competitive, in fact, that the night’s eliminee, Goo, was someone that judge Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg declared “one of the most incredible singers we’ve ever had on this show” (and someone that she’d rung the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell for just a few weeks ago).
