Last week, The Voice Season 27 Playoffs commenced with Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini’s teams, with both the O.G. coach and the rookie coach making some bad decisions. With only two singers from each team (as opposed to the usual three) advancing to the Lives, “shocker” eliminations were inevitable. But a couple of last week’s cuts were truly baffling.
This week, it was time to do it all over again with Team Legend and Team Bublé. And while this was not as strong a crop (Michael Bublé has a particularly unimpressive team of also-rans this season, and he most likely won’t be taking home a second trophy), both Michael and John Legend also faced decisions that John called “agonizing” and “crushing.” That’s why everyone, myself included, was simultaneously excited, relieved, and, as Kelsea Ballerini put it, “overstimulated” Monday — when host Carson Daly eventually brought them “great news, great joy.”
