John comes for Chance after Chance does him dirty during night two of the Season 25 Battle Rounds.

A few weeks ago, on The Voice Season 25 premiere, jazzy torch singer Nadége seemed destined to join Team Legend, when she revealed that the first song she ever performed publicly was John Legend’s “Ordinary People” and John jumped onstage to duet with her on that very tune. But then crafty coach Chance the Rapper dueted with Nadége as well — on “Ordinary People” — and the game changed. “I just beat John Legend in a John Legend contest,” Chance later tweeted, after Nadége picked him over John.

John grudgingly muttered at the time, “Well-played, Chance, Well-played.” But this Tuesday, as the Battle Rounds continued apace and Nadége went up against Team Chance’s Maddi Jane on the Lauryn Hill version of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” John couldn’t take his eye off of his red button. He openly announced that he planned to swoop in and use his Steal on one of Chance’s charismatic women… and that was not well-played at all.

And “must-see TV” — as Chance gleefully exclaimed — ensued.
