‘The Masked Singer’ Season 12 premiere: Leafsheep and Showbirds and Woodpeckers, oh my!
Damn it, I missed this dumb show.
The Masked Singer returned for its 12th season Wednesday, with a splashy opening number featuring fill-in judge Rita Ora belting a ‘90s R&B-style cover of Men at Work’s “Who Can I Be Now.” Introduced by William “The Knight” Shatner, of course.
Then out rolled a limbless, maniacally grinning robo-livestock called the Leafsheep. Imagine what it’d look like if an Astroturf-carpeted Roomba and a jumbo Edible Arrangement had a baby. A baby that was raised by animatronic alpacas. At a Chuck E. Cheese franchise. Or… something like that. (I’m tellin’ ya, after a dozen seasons, this show really has run out of costume ideas — although according to Wikipedia, this is actually a real marine creature, sometimes known in the wild by the less cute-sounding name “leaf slug.”)
Damn it, I missed this dumb show. I can’t quit you, Masked Singer!
