As the finale's only country singer, Jaelyn Johnston could've been the one to beat. Now the poor guy will be lucky if he doesn't come in dead last.

Jaelyn Johnston panics, as he forgets the words to Dierks Bentley’s “What Was I Thinkin’” on live, national TV.

The Voice Season 27 finals took place Monday, with the top five contestants each singing twice — one ballad, and one uptempo number. And I have to say, this show was much more competitive than I’d assumed it would be. Heading into the episode, I thought Team Legend’s Renzo had it in the bag, and he probably would have if he’d saved his “screamery”-laden “Dream On” for this week. But now, I believe Team Bublé’s Adam David or Team Adam’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman could also take this thing. And I would be happy with any of these three winning.

I think the only contestant who has zero chance of winning is Team Kelsea’s poor Jaelyn Johnston. As the only country contestant to make the finals, he could have been the one to beat, but then he majorly flubbed the lyrics to his first song, only about 20 seconds in. And he didn’t get back on track for another 10 seconds, which felt like an eternity on live television.
