And the winner of ‘The Voice’ Season 27 (yes, already) is..
Adam David, Jaelyn Johnston, Renzo, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Jadyn Cree, we hardly knew ye.
The Voice Season 27 finale took place Tuesday, and if I’m being honest, with it airing just two days after rival show American Idol’s epic and historic finals, it felt a bit flat and anticlimactic. It was difficult for me feel truly excited about/invested in the outcome, after the finalists had been so robbed of quality screentime and opportunities to compete for the public’s votes. (The live shows, during which the top 12 were cut down to a top five, only started last week.) And at times, the top five felt like an afterthought, squeezed in between host Carson Daly’s infomercial-style shilling for the new Epic Universe theme park and Karate Kid Legends movie, the coaches’ and guest stars’ blatant self-promotions, and various time-killing/filling “comedy” sketches. These contestants deserved more than this.
